Overview
Yet to fulfil their rock and roll destiny, now middle-aged best friends Bill and Ted set out on a new adventure when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it. Along the way, they are helped by their daughters, a new batch of historical figures and a few music legends — to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony to the universe.
Rumoured for the past few decades, the trailers were a warning sign that maybe we should have just left it alone. The end result is confirmation that sometimes nostalgia is best left in the mind and never given form!
A mash of the plots for the first two films, it offers nothing new, and much like the recent J&SB Reboot is more just a trip down nostalgia lane for fans of the previous films – something that could be achieved much better by simply slamming the original films into a bluray drive and watching them.
For those unfamiliar to the films, it offers nothing as a ‘newcomer’ reference, and all the in-jokes will be lost on them. The trailers sold the reunion of the whole gang (including Reaper) as a big point – which amounts to about 5 minutes of the film at the end.
Less Wyld Stallions and more Concussed Ponies, the film sputters to a finale that looks cheaper than something in the Sharknado films, and is less entertaining.
