Overview
An award-winning cynical journalist, Lloyd Vogel, begrudgingly accepts an assignment to write an Esquire profile piece on the beloved television icon Fred Rogers. After his encounter with Rogers, Vogel's perspective on life is transformed.
Maybe you need to have grown up in the US, where Mr Rogers captured the hearts and minds of generations growing up, but for me this felt like a bland, TV movie given the big name treatment.
Then again, given our childhood heroes in the UK all turned out to be creepy as heck (dammit, Rolf!) maybe, just maybe, I can’t appreciate it when someone turns out to be as nice as they seemed.
